Spring is comming, HOORAY!
So, I haven't posted in ages. I tried yesterday and it wouldn't take. Not too happy about that, gotta tell you.
Anyway, the reason I didn't post anything is that I have been seriously bummed out. The gloom of winter finally got to me, not so much in wanting warmth or hating cold, but in the most desperate emotional state I've seen in a long time. HOWEVER, I've since gotten over that, and spring is certainly on her way.
In honor of Ostara, my own talent, my 25'th birthday, and general groovitude, I have decided to audition for Cabaret. It feels a bit like my preparations are dragging, but I am trying to be patient, and trust the process too. That is difficult for me, but it's getting easier thanks to Kenny Werner and his book Effortless Mastery. It is a seriously groovy book, I highly recomend it to all peoples creative, in other words...everyone.
Also, last night Tony and I went to the most amazing performance. Fred Hersch, and his ensemble along with Kurt Elling, and another vocalist whose name is escaping me at the momment; anyway Hersch has set Whitman's Leaves of Grass, and several other works as well. It was incredible. If you have any interest in one of the components of this work, it is worth your time. For Tony and I though, as lovers of beauty, music, poetry, Whitman, Elling, and Hersch, this was a perfect melding of it all. Wow!
