rinnythemusical

My online bulletin board. A place to post things I find groovy, or to ask questions of the masses. Kinda like a flea market, you never really know what you'll find but on a good day you should find something interesting, if not also of value.

A happy but muddy stream of consciousness

My god what a birthday weekend. After a weekend like that, it should be criminal to go back to "have to's"! Filled with laughter, debauchery (drunk and otherwise), good music, great food, superb company, and more good times than I think is allowed by law, I think this may be the best weekend in my memory. Granted, after some of my actions of the last several days, my memory may be lessened...hee hee

Okay, rambling seems to be the order of the day, my apologies. Anyway, with how happy and relaxed I am today, it is my opinion that all people should engage in those behaviors and activities they have always wanted to. As long as it doesn't cause harm to anyone, including oneself, what can possibly go wrong? Life and youth are meant to be enjoyed, right? So, why then do we, especially Americans, spend the most vital years of our lives running ourselves into the ground. Enjoy yourself, one another, the world around you...it all fades and changes with time.

Oh, another update: I did not make the cast of Cabaret, but I figure that that only leaves me open for bigger and better adventures. A little more time to regroup and organize, and I will let you know what my next move will be. I know you are all waiting with baited breath for me to announce my career strategy, after all, it's far too fascinating to miss, right? Wait, don't answer that. Let me live in my denial.

red flowers growing around us

So, my friend Lauren works for this company called red flower, it has awesome stuff. I'm all about their thai honeysuckle body wash, it is absolutely lovely and yummy smelling. Anyway, I thought I would share this truly groovy company with all you people out there. It is kind of expensive, but it is truly a magnificent experience for the body and soul. Here is a link listing where you can find their products near you.

I've been meaning to share this company with all of you for some time now, so, if you are familiar with it let me know what you think and what your favorite product is.

Spring is comming, HOORAY!

So, I haven't posted in ages. I tried yesterday and it wouldn't take. Not too happy about that, gotta tell you.

Anyway, the reason I didn't post anything is that I have been seriously bummed out. The gloom of winter finally got to me, not so much in wanting warmth or hating cold, but in the most desperate emotional state I've seen in a long time. HOWEVER, I've since gotten over that, and spring is certainly on her way.

In honor of Ostara, my own talent, my 25'th birthday, and general groovitude, I have decided to audition for Cabaret. It feels a bit like my preparations are dragging, but I am trying to be patient, and trust the process too. That is difficult for me, but it's getting easier thanks to Kenny Werner and his book Effortless Mastery. It is a seriously groovy book, I highly recomend it to all peoples creative, in other words...everyone.

Also, last night Tony and I went to the most amazing performance. Fred Hersch, and his ensemble along with Kurt Elling, and another vocalist whose name is escaping me at the momment; anyway Hersch has set Whitman's Leaves of Grass, and several other works as well. It was incredible. If you have any interest in one of the components of this work, it is worth your time. For Tony and I though, as lovers of beauty, music, poetry, Whitman, Elling, and Hersch, this was a perfect melding of it all. Wow!
