My online bulletin board. A place to post things I find groovy, or to ask questions of the masses. Kinda like a flea market, you never really know what you'll find but on a good day you should find something interesting, if not also of value.

Abortion protests at schools rile Howell parents - 10/19/06 - The Detroit News Online

Not to distract from the rather highly volatile nature of this article, but can you have such strong beliefs about such complex issues, at the age of six? Or are you just doing what your parents tell you to do? And that, of course, raises another issue entirely.

Thank you Lacea for sending this to me, even if you didn't post it on your blog. I miss your blog.

Bush and Blair Funny Song - Google Video

My dear friend Courtney sent this to me, and I thought I would share with all of you. I am particularly fond of Pres. Bush and his excellent sense of timing. I can't believe they didn't cast him in 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.'

Can't we call him Scale-y-ah?

At least there we can drop subtle hints about him being cold blooded. Why is it that the people who have the power only ever seem to want to use it for evil?

Court won't rethink 'Mary Doe' abortion case - CNN.com

I would like to know why is it that certain individuals believe that their changing their minds (whether or not it is under someone else's influence is still in question) should determine the options available to thousands of others. It is yet another hurtle to overcome in this fight for freedom.

Feminism lives beyond US borders

Just in case you thought this crap only happened in Africa, and that American's were the only people to take a stand on such issues.

Ms. Magazine Lists Women Who Had Abortions - AOL News

Once again we have a perfect display of the personal being the political. This is a volatile time for abortion and reproductive rights, it is our responsibility to fight for our own rights, and not just take them for granted. Never before, since Roe v. Wade was passed, have we been so dangerously close to it's reversal. A reversal that if to come to fruition would devastate and entire generation of women that haven't had to fight for the right to control what goes on with their own body. Think about what restricting choice, restricting personal liberty, really means.

Tuesday I will be going to buy my copy of Ms. Magazine. In that purchase, I will be supporting every woman who chose to make herself vulnerable by publicizing her story. I will be supporting every woman who didn't feel safe enough to make her own choices public. And perhaps most importantly, I will be supporting every woman who has been in the position to choose. No matter what the out come, a choice. A personal choice.

Wouldn't it be cool if we, the American People, could clear every newsstand in town. Buy every single issue of Ms. that was published. Wouldn't it be even better if we, if YOU and I, could tell congress and the supreme court to keep their laws off of our bodies.

All it takes is a phone call.

A life without liberty cannot be in pursuit of happiness.
