My online bulletin board. A place to post things I find groovy, or to ask questions of the masses. Kinda like a flea market, you never really know what you'll find but on a good day you should find something interesting, if not also of value.

Another way to take action

Open your eyes, please!

This should be an interesting case to keep an eye on. As it was two years ago, this is an indicator on the current and future climate towards women, reproductive freedom, and gender equality for the election in '08 and an indicator of where we, as a nation, are headed attitudinally regarding personal liberties. Sounds pretty scary to me, with two new conservative justices on the bench.

Let us keep in mind folks, if a medical procedure can be banned by a governmental body then one can be enforced. If the governmental body in question, a so called Democracy, legislates in such a fashion, then they are sending messages of distrust. Distrust of those they govern, and in a democracy those they govern are the same people they represent, and in turn by those who place them in office. If the government shows no respect for the people who put them in office, then they blatantly disrespect the Democratic process and the Democracy itself. It would seem to me that if those members of government have such little regard for what they do and for whom they do it, then they need to be replaced. If necessary, by force.

If we are to continue along this path of stripping personal liberties, and the freedom to make up ones own mind about their life, their body and their family, then we are passively condoning the building of a fascist state. Democracy and the idea that our founding fathers, and mothers, held so dear is perilously close to vanishing completely.

Any thoughts?
