New Growth in Music

New York has always been a hub of artistic growth. For jazz, however, it seemed to have it's biggest creative depot in the Village during the 50's and 60's. That is until recently. Brooklyn is the home of so much cutting edge art right now, it's on par with the Harlem's and the Village's of decades past.

I was struck by how candid the author, and the individuals quoted were regarding women's roles. I have often thought that the social climate we live in, here in the west, is so desperately biased against women, that one must be considered a raging leftist to even approach equality. This article adds a certain amount of validity to that thought. I look forward to discussing this article, these ideas, and more with all of you.
