My online bulletin board. A place to post things I find groovy, or to ask questions of the masses. Kinda like a flea market, you never really know what you'll find but on a good day you should find something interesting, if not also of value.

Finally, a post!

So, here we are, fall is upon us. It is officially the autumn equinox, mabon. A time of giving thanks, so that is what I am here to do.

I am thankful first and foremost that my family, immediate and extended, were out of Katrina's path. I can't imagine facing that kind of devastation.
I am thankful there are only three more years of Snub-ya's administration. Not that he actually administers anything but bureaucracy and highly elitist political game playing.
I am thankful to be out of the ghetto apartment Tony and I have been in for the last six years.
I am grateful to be in a very sweet, though not particularly well painted, Cape Cod built in 1948. Got to love post war Americana! McCarthy would shit: what was once conformist and cookie-cutter is now being used for our highly personalized, fuck the system lifestyle. Hooray! Sometimes I feel like a truly bizarre cross between Edna St. Vincent Millay, Doris Day, and Gloria Steinem...What a combination.
I am grateful that, while not on my timeline, I no longer have to spend every day in a gray cubicle mindlessly answering phones and constantly feeling like judgment is being passed on me and my "liberal" ways.
I am full of thanks for my partner, family, and friends being so amazingly supportive of my ability to sing, teach and make baked goods that I think I might actually be able to make some money doing things I love. Even though I am sure I will have to get another part time gig to pay some bills.

Okay, I think for now I need to stop, before I get even more sappy and gooey sounding. I'm just so stinkin' happy! I'll save the acerbic, political rant that is coming, for another posting...perhaps tomorrow or Friday.
